Give Today Our Story
๐ฟ "Empowering the next generation of Liberian leaders โ through love, education, and community." ๐ฟ
Founded in 2002 by Lydia Karnga in the wake of a civil war that left many children without parents, Karing Place Empowerment began with a single conviction: that every child in Lloydville, Liberia deserves safety, dignity, and a real shot at the future. What started as a humble effort to shelter the most vulnerable has grown into a thriving community spanning 150 acres in the heart of Liberia.
Today, our orphanage is home to 102 children โ each one nurtured, educated, and surrounded by a community that believes in them. We provide daily meals, healthcare access, emotional support, and the kind of stable foundation that transforms generations.
But we are not finished. We are actively constructing a dedicated school building โ set to open its doors in August 2026 โ giving our children a permanent, purpose-built space for learning. This school is more than a building. It is the next chapter.
A stable, loving home for 102 children โ complete with meals, healthcare, emotional support, and the security every child deserves. More than shelter: a family.
Our on-campus primary school equips children with foundational literacy, numeracy, and life skills. Education is the most powerful investment we can make in a child's future.
In recent years we've acquired 150 acres in Lloydville โ where our orphans now live, learn, and grow. We are currently building a new school building on the property, with plans to develop a community health clinic as our next major project.
We are in the final push to complete our dedicated school building before the start of the 2026 academic year. Every dollar raised between now and August goes directly to construction, furnishings, and supplies โ so 102 children can walk through those doors on day one. This is more than a building. It is the future of a community.
